We used the FLACC pain assessment tool in an ICU setting.

N-PASS was also used in neonatal settings.

The other tools I have only come across in this module and aim to use them.

Especially the psychosocial genograms and FICA tool for spiritual assessments- this can be incorporated as part of the initial assessment or at follow up visits with the family.

2.FLACC scale: evaluate legs, face ,activity ,cry ,to assess intensity of pain
3.CRIES scale :assess crying ,vital signs, to determine levels of pain

Thanks for sharing the tools you use in your workplace! I agree — having consistent protocols across institutions, with validated assessment tools, would really help ensure that all patients receive thorough and equitable care.

I personally prefer the FLACC scale,we would get a refferal from the doctor and the team would assess the patient and mostly get some information from the treating Dr and the parent then have a look at the pain medication but mostly we use the FLACC pain scale and it has always been so helpful.
