      In the ICU we commonly use tools to assess pain (like the FLACC/comfort behavioural scale), level of sedation (RASS/Comfort B) and to look for signs of delirium and withdrawal.

      The genogram is somewhat familiar but hardly ever used in our ICU.

      New scores for me were the FICA and PaPas.

      Holistic Assessment has been an eye opener for me. I have been doing terminal care plans in the ICU but I realise now there is so much more we can do and importantly they need to be done earlier.
