in clinical practice culture and religion influence how parents or gaurdians comply to therapies i chronically or terminally ill patients. they may insist on discharges prematurely to try other therapies at home .
we have tried to engage them at onset of medical therapies . advise on other therapies to continue e.g they can bring their pastor , sangoma to pray for the child in hospital. of course we be safeguarding the safety of the child.

Thank you, Ronnie, for the effort you put into being culturally competent and for finding ways to provide care that is respectful and sensitive to families’ beliefs. Your approach really shows compassion and commitment, and you understand the limits that need to be in place as well which is so important!
