Dignity is providing a sense of worth.
In paediatrics, each age group have different aspects that are improtant to their self – worth.
An infant may not be concerned about how they are examined and terminology used uses an adolescent.
In practice, it can be an issue when there are no curtains or private spaces to allow for history taking and proper examination.
Many parents do not wish to inform their children about the diagnosis or do not allow them to part take in decision making.

Thank you, Pranushka, for highlighting many essential aspects of dignity. As you mentioned, dignity is about providing a sense of worth, and in paediatrics, it’s vital to recognize that each age group has different needs in terms of self-worth. An infant may not be concerned with how they are examined, but an adolescent certainly would be. In practice, challenges like the lack of privacy during examinations can definitely hinder maintaining dignity. Additionally, when parents choose not to inform their children about their diagnosis or involve them in decision-making, it complicates how we can preserve their dignity. There is so much to consider, isnt there!
