Use of multidisciplinary teams is crucial in palliative care because there are so many areas to be addressed. There should be a member of the team who collaborates everything so that the team can work in unison. Since each team member has special skills in their area, it ensures that the child receives the best care possible. When I worked at Redcross hospital, children with end stage kidney used to receive amazing palliative care service. There was a teacher who would visit the ward daily, a social worker, an aromatherapist, dietician then the renal doctors. Each member of the team played their part and meetings were held each Monday to discuss the patients with all members of the team.
