I have been a paediatrician for 31 years and a paediatric neurologist for 24 years. I have not used any specific tool to date in a coordinated or practical manner. I think that’s because I have tended to use a bit of this and that to come to conclusions and assumptions. This course has been quite an eye opener for me, and I am finding that an old dog can ALWAYS learn new tricks. I plan to embrace some of the pain and spiritual tools. Genograms are interesting and important, but I tend to get that info from my social history, I am going to leave that to my more experienced colleagues in the psychological field to cover more comprehensively.

Thank you for sharing your reflections! It’s inspiring to see that even with so many years of experience, you’re open to learning new approaches, truly shows that we can always grow. Embracing the pain and spiritual assessment tools sounds like a wonderful step and it’s great that you recognize the value of collaborating with colleagues who bring complementary expertise, like in psychological assessments. Your openness is such a great example for all of us!
