being a paediatric intensivist, dignity involve different aspects : autonomy for the child and the family allowing them to make decision. Start communicating early , being empathetic to both hild and family. Make sure the comfort of the child has been taken care of (physical, emotional and psychological).
All this can be achieved by offering an holistic care , family centered approach. Avoid poor communication, respect the ethical principles, adequate pain management.
