This has been a mind-shifting course for me.
I have learnt, especially with regards to practical care of patients.
We have a long way to go in reducing the stigma associated with palliative care- in my opinion, one way would be to TALK about it more- speak to nurses, young doctors, medical students, allied health services. Perhaps we can open minds to the possibility of making differences, even if it feels small.
Let’s talk about the possibility of including it in patient care- even with limited resources. Only if we consider it an option, will we consider including it. We can do so much more than pain relief.
I think the possibilities are endless ! :)
