      The role of play is a wonderful way in which one can allow kids to express themselves and allow one to discover things about a child that one didn’t think would be an issue. Play therapy can not only help in situations of palliative care, but also in cases where abuse and trauma has come over the child, it can assist in even uncovering a perpetrator, or even where a child is hurting and where the healthcare worker didn’t even realize, how they are truly feeling about not only illness but fears and anxiety. I feel like a challenge would be that not every single facility might have easy accessibility to child play as sometimes figures of the multidisciplinary team is shared
      A way in which play therapy can assist in children coping with illness could be where children fantasy becomes a reality for a small moment and kids forget about the if lines, medications, the fact that they can’t home and require inpatient care or the fact that they are away from their family…
